AdPyro International?

Ok, so this is a quick note to everyone who has written asking about our planned expansion into other counties.  As you know, the AdPyro service is currently available in the geographical locations of the United States and Canada.  It has always been our intention to make this service available on a global level.  Presently, there is no specific date of when that will happen or which counties will come on board first.  But I can say that we are looking to make this happen by the first part of 2010, if not sooner.  So just keep checking the blog for updates.

Because AdPyro is a new website, it is still in a state of development. New categories and sub-categories are created as the needs of the website expand.

For some time, there has been a growing need for a Business Opportunities category. As of today, we have created a new category to accommodate this segment of advertisers and opportunity seekers.

The new “Business Opps” category offers ‘Work at Home’, ‘Business for Sale’ and ‘General Offers’.

Free Classifieds for USA and Canada

So the decision was made this morning to make the United States and Canada our official regions of service. The question of global availability is one that often comes up. AdPyro will eventually be available worldwide, and the intention is to make that happen in the near future.

Our site is still very new, in fact it just recently graduated from ‘beta’. All of your comments and suggestion have certainly helped to make that happen ahead of schedule. Our resident IT guru has has worked out all the bugs is now working on international currency conversion. As it is now, AdPyro can only post ads using the “$” symbol. This doesn’t work out so well for our visitors from other counties that use other symbols such as “£”, “EUR”, “JPY” for example.

Craigslist rumors

We’ve been receiving a large number of emails asking about an internet rumor regarding a possible buy-out of AdPyro by Craigslist founder Craig Newmark.  I want to officially state that these rumors are not true.  There are no such plans.   Craigslist and AdPyro are unique sites with a type of  service for which there is plenty of room on the internet for both to exist without having to “go-after each other”.   Please email the link to this blog entry to anyone who is spreading this rumor.
